Tres Agaves Tequila Reposado

Tres Agaves Tequila Reposado achieves a masterful balance of oak and agave. It rests in fine oak barrels for six to nine months and is perfect for margaritas, shots, and sipping.

Tres Agaves has one distinct difference. Our entire product family has been carefully designed to help people make world-class margaritas. Now anyone can make a great margarita at home – or behind the bar.

Before Tequila was a spirit, it was a place. It is a small town in Jalisco, Mexico where the world’s best blue agave plants grow. Very few 100% agave brands are still produced in the town of Tequila, and Tres Agaves is one of those special few. True artisanal quality at an attractive price point.

Tres Agaves is an interesting brand. In the world of high end spirits and sipping tequila, Tres Agaves comes straight out and says that it's designed to make world class margaritas. I've sipped both the blanco and añejo and I can say that I enjoy them neat as well...particularly at the budget price. It's a low cost brand from Tequila Arette (NOM 1109) that has caught on well and is widely distributed in the US as well. So if it sounds like something that you might like, you should have no trouble finding it.

Price: $25/bottle

Aroma: A tad dry. Light agave nose, but plenty of oak as well.

Initial Taste: A really nice sweetness up front. Sweet cooked agave and vanilla notes.

Body: Medium to thin body. The oak comes through a bit more, but it has a good balance. A tiny vegetal note sneaks in as well.

Finish: The oak notes comes forward quite a bit. The agave kick is there as well with just a hint of bitter chocolate. A nice finish.

Sip it, mix it, do whatever. This is a darn good bottle for $25. It has the balance and flavors to sip and the price to mix. Arette made a really nice and approachable tequila here and I'll be keeping one in my bar for sure.
