Crótalo Extra Añejo Reserva Tequila is double barrel aged a total of 5 years using our proprietary aging process. Crotalo Extra Añejo Reserva has a limited production of 1500 bottles per year and is perfectly suited to be sipped from a snifter like a fine cognac.

Crótalo Tequila is a traditionally crafted, limited production premium tequila. One hundred percent blue agave is hand selected and harvested with a coa by our jimadors, ensuring that only the finest pínas are used to produce Crótalo Tequila. It is our attention to tradition and detail that provides Crótalo Tequila with character, taste and quality that are unmatched. We showcase Crótalo Tequila in artisan glass blown bottles with labels that are applied by hand.

The colour is deep dark Greek honey, which can almost describe the velvety mouthfeel of this extra-anejo. Nose is like walking into a bakery: baked peach cobbler with cinnamon, allspice, some brandy, and just a touch of smoky agave tucked underneath it all. Very fruity on the entry, with complimenting notes of barrel wood, dark spice, and chocolate. A nice finish, full and warm, which doesn't leave you feeling wanting. This tequila is like a lovely rich dessert after a main course of the exquisite and much more expressive anejo.

This brand seems to get better with barrel time. A decent base juice, but the aging does wonders for it.

The nose if full of fruit and spice, but charcoal starts to intrude a little. The taste is very sweet, with baking spices, but not a lot of agave flavor, although very tasty. The body is actually thin for an extra anejo, and it takes on a dry element from the oak. Finish is very pleasant with lingering layers of fruit and spice.

This was a very enjoyable drinking experience, and a well-done job of aging. The price is probably a little steep; it should be priced closer to a very good anejo - maybe around $100. As with the entire line, a nice bottle presentation that is unique.

wow! this is now at the top of my extra anejo list!and that was no easy task.
the aroma,taste, body, and finish are incredible!if you dont like this tequilla , then you should stop drinking tequila!for a c-note you get a bottle of the best extra anejo available.(per my taste that is)!but everyone that i have had try this has been down right impressed.as was i.as for how smooth it is
well buy it and try it if you dont like it(your crazy)i will be happy to take the rest of the bottle off your hands!!!both old town and hi-times carry it.

This tequila is everything that it was billed to be. As the winner of many competitions as best in show, my expectations were high and they were met and exceeded.

Aroma: Nose of Caramel, Agave, Oak and Spice.
Initial Taste: Sweet Caramel and light ripe fruits.
Body: Thick/rich body that coats the mouth with spices. You can really taste the complexity that came from aging in double barrels, but it's a nice balance of sweetness, fruit, chocolate and wood.
Finish: So smooth. No burn at all. It finishes like silk. No burn, but a nice agave spice that is still there when most 5 year aged tequila lose that property.

This may be my new favorite tequila. It's really THAT good.
