Agave Loco Pepper Cured Reposado Tequila

Agave Loco Tequila starts with 100% Agave Reposado aged in used bourbon barrels for 3-6 months, and is then cured in a proprietary formula of 6 pepper varieties including Jalapeño, Habanero, and 4 other types. Each variety of pepper was chosen for unique characteristics, some for heat, some for sweetness, and some for flavor.

Agave Loco Tequila, pepper cured for flavor, not for the heat.

Tequila Loco Pepper Cured Reposado * Tasted 11-27-08 * Riedel Tequila Glass

Appearance: cloudy, light gold - thick body with slow tears
Aroma: sweet peppers , earthy
Initial Taste: sweet mild pepper and agave
Spirit Body: spicy and sweet, mild to medium heat
Finish / Aftertaste: warm mouthfeel, long pepper aftertaste

A great combination of peppers with Tequila, the spicy sweet flavor works great in a cocktail or to spice up your favorite dish.

Very cool tequila, the aroma is all jalapeno peppers and the first taste is an explosion of heat, but no alcohol burn...finish is all peppers...this stuff makes a great Bloody Mary. I use Major Peters "the Works" mix and it's awesome!!

This tequila is made for the pepper lover. I bought this bottle at Binny's Beverage in Lakeview in Chicago. It cost $29.

The nose is sweet pepper and jalapeno...you can smell the agave in the background...their is no alcohol in the nose, it's all pepper.

The first sip is an explosion of pepper, kinda like hitting the jalapeno on top of the nacho. The finish is no alcohol burn just pepper heat.

I tried it in a Margarita and a Bloody Mary...it's adds just the right touch of spice, with a little heat on the back of ypour throat, not overpowering pepper flavor, a nice balance.

Can't wait to try it in a Sangrita....
