Reserva de Mexico Tequila Reposado

Reserva de Mexico Tequila Reposado is 100% Agave and produced at Agroindustrias Casa Ramirez. Reserva de Mexico Tequila rests up to one year in oak barrels.

Purchased for under $20.00, a less expensive alternative to other brands from the same distillery.

Kind of a strange distillery for this one. Reserva de Mexico is a value brand and the other brand made at NOM 1519 is DeLeon, which is the ultimate in overpriced brands. I've had the anejo and thought it was a steal for the price.

Aroma: A very light nose with agave, vanilla and a bit of fruit and floral scents.
Initial Taste: Sweet agave and vanilla. Very simple.
Body: A big oak flavor surprises you because it's the first time that it appears at the back of your palate. It works really well with the vanilla flavor. Some nice clove like spice notes as well.
Finish: A nice balanced and spicy reposado finish. Agave spice, baking spice and oak linger around for a medium-long duration.

This is almost like a tale of two tequilas. Starts off really basic and sweet and it ends with a nice spicy kick and complex reposado flavor. For the price, this is a gem just like the anejo. I'd recommend this to pretty much anyone who asks.
