The nose has caramel and oak, with a chemical undertone that was also present in the blanco. In the taste, there is some sweetness, but to go with it, a mixture of caramel and soapiness. A medium weight body, with some dryness from the oak - not a very pleasant mixture of taste and feel. The finish has a medium duration with a balanced burn going down, but a medicinal aftertaste of chemicals and oak continues.
This tequila has no standouts from any aspect, so not the most enjoyable experience. Again, NOM 1472 doesn't seem to work for me. The price varies widely from $40-$50 for the repo, but personally, there are other brands I would rather spend that kind of money on. It does have a very attractive bottle made of heavy glass with a good cork and stopper.
