Gran Tulum is another new brand to me. Everything I've read has made it sound pretty good. I found it in a very random place for $25, so I thought I had to give it a shot. The bottle is interesting, the NOM (1459) makes some good stuff and I always like trying new brands.

Aroma: A nice light scent of vanilla/caramel, agave and citrus.
Initial Taste: Fruity agave, oak and spice with nice vanilla sweetness.
Body: Medium body, nice mouth feel. Nice caramel and oak notes to go along with the fruit flavors. A very nice balance of all flavors.
Finish: A nice finish with agave, spice notes and oak and hang around for a medium length of time. A very nice finish for a very nice tequila.

My first impression of Gran Tulum is a really nice one. The flavors are ones that you would expect from a reposado with a nice balance of agave and aging notes. They all blend really nicely and drink very smooth. Factor in the price and you have another value gem. I'll definitely be checking out the rest of this line when I get a chance. It's a steal of a tequila at the under $30 price point.
