Pink tequila. As far as I know, only AsomBroso makes a tequila aged in Bordeaux barrels and pink in color. I assume that it will add a flavor as dinsticnt as the color. While the flowers on the bottle and hue make it unlike anything else, I'm more interested in the flavor than anything else.

Price: $35-40/bottle

Aroma: Mixture of agave, oak and dark chocolate.

Initial Taste: Some agave and thick sweetness. The chocolate flavor still has a large presence.

Body: It tastes so different than a standard reposado that it's hard to characterize the flavors. The body is medium oily and it has some nice bitter oak flavors with some spice and the definite Tootsie Roll flavor.

Finish: While I just mention the Tootsie Roll flavor in the rest of the review, the finish is almost identical to the chewy, chocolate candy. I don't know if this is how wine interacts with agave, but it's really interesting. The finish is easy going and the dark chocolate linger is long.

While not standard fare, AsomBroso La Rosa is a tasty change of pace to a regular repo. This is especially true if you like a bit of bitterness and/or dark chocolate as the complimentary flavors. The bottle will, as always, be a discussion piece...as will the pink color. But solely on its merits on the palate, the tequila is worth checking out if the profile above suits your fancy.

The nose of this is not overly complex but it is unique with a lot of cherry. The initial taste gives you that cherry flavor as well. Th body like the nose isn't complex but a bit different? The finish is nice but not exceptional. Overall this was enjoyable and unique but not exceptional I would recommend for someone looking for that unique experience but not a purist.

It's a phallic pink bottle...not what I usually bring home.

I bought it because it was cheap. I'll try any tequila and this is my first experience with one aged in a wine cask. I like the AsomBroso line, so why not give it a shot, right?

Aroma: Agave filled with oak and dark chocolate...almost like a Tootsie Roll.
Initial Taste: Sweet agave with notes of chocolate and fruit.
Body: Medium body. The sweetness is present throughout along with the oak and chocolate flavors.
Finish: It's the most chocolatey tequila finish I've evver had in my life. I'm not sure why Burgundy casks would do that, but it's a really rish chocolate flavor. Not bitter at all. Kind of a nice change of pace.

I should reference that I purchased this for $25 (I've seen it A LOT higher) and for that price, this is a very good tequila and one worth keeping around. This is not one that I would ever mix. The flavors are complex and smooth. Very interesting to say the least.

I'd call this a Mexican cognac.

This tequila is thick and sweet. The sweetness takes away the burn of the alcohol.

Aroma: Mostly sweet agave with delicate red wine in the background
taste: sweet thick
after taste: toffee then sweet oak

My girlfriend liked it, I didn't hate it. I'll probably buy it again.
