I am the bartender in a Mexican restaurant with a vast selection of quality tequilas and we now use Agavales as our house tequila for margaritas. Prior to this was Sauza gold and believe me, this is a HUGE step up. When I first saw the bottle I was certainly thrown off, but don't let it fool you. Luckily we don't have the plastic bottles, but the labels are quite cheap looking. For a 100% agave tequila the price is unbeatable. It is still considered a "gold" tequila, artificially colored and unaged. Its actually palatable by itself, the flavor is decent and considerably smooth, with a very short and hot finish. Throw this one back, don't spend too much time sipping it. Definitely suited for cheap margaritas for those who like to add sweet and sour, etc. Also available in a quite potent 110 proof variety.
