I bought this in NY for $49, which is a very good price for an anejo this good. It's pretty oaky, but also has a nice hint of butter/butterscotch flavor. A very notable aspect of this is it's smoothness; while it's slightly numbing, it is still incredibly smooth. This is a pretty complex anejo - if you told me I was drinking a $100 tequila I would believe you. A great tequila overall; one of the better I've had. If it were more widely available and had a touch more agave flavor I'd consider making this my go-to Tequila. This is definitely worth trying if you get a chance though, and a wonderfully made tequila!

Very good tequila at a very good price.

Aroma: Sweet nose. Lots of agave and caramel scents.
Initial Taste: Again very sweet with agave, vanilla, caramel and spices.
Body: Light body for an anejo and really smooth.
Finish: Very pleasant finish. Remains sweet and there is very little burn. A very easy tequila to drink.

I purchased it for $28 at Hi Time and for that price, it's a steal. Dos Lunas bottle & presentation is classy, but unspectacular. I'd recommend this to seasoned tequila drinkers or people looking for a nice value to start their collection.

Dos Lunas Anejo NOM 1124 Tasted on 7/18/08 at 9:00pm. I tried this tequila at the Grad Tequila Bar and tasted it in a snifter. With a golden amber brown color, this tequila has intense aromas of floral and earth. Other aromas include moderate vanilla and caramel with mild fruit and spice. The tequila has a medium mouth feel and on the first sip is sweet with no bitterness. Dos Lunas Anejo's moderate to intense flavors of floral are followed by moderate notes of caramel, wood, and agave. With a medium duration of flavor, tastes of mild fruit and vanilla with hints of earth and spice bring this tequila to a slightly numbing finish. Dos Lunas Anejo has received the rating of 88/89 points out of 100.

The intial scent is of vanilla and agave as is the first sip. The body has a silky mouth-feel with plenty of vanilla. The finish disipates with only a touch of warmth leaving me with a touch of light agave.
I enjoyed this Tequila enough to go on a fairly sizable hunt for it while I was in Denver. I was lucky enough to find it since the distributor for that area dropped it.
It was priced very reasonable at $50.

After reading an article on Dos Lunas Grand Reserve, I knew I had to try the Dos Lunas brand. Tasted 6/12/10. The nose presented some complexities....the blend of spice, vanilla and caramel was perfect and fit the moment. From the first moment the tequila hit my lips and tongue, I was pleasantly surprised. With enough agave and minor alcohol presence, the body is well balanced. Then the finish sealed the deal for me....smooth and rich. Presentation is tasteful with a well designed bottle. Since this tequila will become a consistently stocked item for my bar, I will refer this brand to all who ask. Fortunately this bottle does not cost $2,200 like their Grand Reserve and worth every penny of the $45 I paid.
