Tasted on 01/20/09 out of a snifter. A pretty darn good anejo with a taste all its own. 7 Leguas is a very unique tequila and one of my favorites. The presentation is pretty darn cool too. Not one I'd recommend to beginners( I think it would be too complex for a new tequila drinker), yet something I'd recommend to an aficionado!
Aroma: A semi intense aroma of floral, berry and vanilla.
Initial Taste: A thin mouth feel, it was sweet with low bitterness.
Body: A nice woody agave with hints of smoke, vanilla, earth, and spice. A pretty complex body if u ask me!
Finish: A lightly heated finish of short duration with a lingering aftertaste of earth, and vanilla.

It's funny that you and at least one other reviewer commented that this was probably not a good tequila for beginners. It was one of the very first tequilas that I purchased, and I loved it from the start. Perhaps it is because I was already accustomed to drinking single malt whiskeys. I like the caramel notes and its smoothness. Rich, but very approachable, IMO, and at a pretty good price.
