Colour is very light amber, more like a repo, which hints at things to come. Initial smell is perfumy and floral, but opens up into fruit, agave, soft wood and light alcohol. Nose is unobtrusive and welcoming. Taste is dates, maybe a few figs, agave, very light wood, some honey on the entry, some clove at the rear. Very balanced. Certainly not a big-spice anejo, but some lovely tingle on the tongue and some easy heat at the top of the throat. A light to medium finish with a gentle creeper of an after-finish that keeps going with soft cooked agave sweetnesses and mild spice. Every single thing about this anejo is understated and nuanced, with few overbearing age elements to interfere with its mellow agave profile. It's really hard not to love this wonderful tequila for what it is: a nice light touch with plenty of quiet agave character. Eminently drinkable and enjoyable. Superb.
