Tequila Joe's Anejo. New NOM...new tequila. I very literally know nothing about the brand other than it was released in the past year and that it carries a premium price. It's single barrel rested for 18 months in French oak and the bottles are hand blown with really nice touches that say premium. Let's see if the juice merits the price.

Aroma: A very light musty agave scent with just hint of vanilla and fruit.
Initial Taste: Again, a light sweetness with faint notes of vanilla and fruit elements.
Body: Medium-thin mouth feel. Notes of vanilla, spice agave and light berries.
Finish: Fairly muted finish. No flavor ever really took charge and there was not a very long linger. There's some nice oak elements and some fruit and spice as well.

This tequila was very pleasant, but lacked any unique aspect that made you want to keep drinking it. The musty and fruity agave nose and flavors are very common in French Oak rested tequila and they are definitely in this one as well. The flavors within are fine, there’s just not enough of them. In a world full of tequilas that have a unique characteristic, I feel like this one sort of gets lost in the shuffle. And with the premium price of $60+, I think that there's probably better value out there.
