Well, in this case I will break my rule of always buying a bottle of tequila before I rate it. I see that no one reviewed this tequila as yet and that is a shame because it is a really good one. I live in Virginia and the only place I have ever seen this tequila is at a restaurant in Las Vegas. To be more precise, the restaurant is named "Lindo Michoacan" and I believe there are two locations. The place I went was on Winchester, east of the downtown area. The bar had at least 300 different tequilas and most of them were brands sold primarily west of the Mississippi. I tried 6 different anejos, none of which I had never had before. Perhaps a vanity, but when confronted with so many tequilas I have never seen before, I usually pick bottles I am attracted to. This bottle is tall and distinctive and the label is also unusual. This tequila smells strong of agave and tastes equally so; plenty of body with almost no alcohol after-taste. Lots of citrus overtones but not strong enough to mask more benign flavors such as mango and - going out on a limb here - pomegranate. There was virtually no whiskey flavoring from barrel aging. A double shot was $24.00 so it was money well spent and if I ever have a chance to buy a bottle, I certainly will.
