The International Tasting Group has sourced several of the finest boutique Tequileras in Mexico and assembled their products of Micro Tequilas as a collection to be sampled and compared.
Rather than just offer one brand, TEQUILARACK™ is offering three distinctly different Reposados for consumers to begin their Tequila journey. TEQUILARACK™ offers this newly designed Tasting Kit with 3 hand-picked brands and a measuring jigger. In addition, www.TequilaRack.com has provided more in-depth information on Tequila, how to host a Tequila tasting party, what equipment should be used, what foods to serve and even what type of music can be played to enhance the experience.
Each Tequila has its own unique story. The flavor variations come from the differences in the soil within the appellation of origin where the Weber Blue Agaves are grown, as well as the kinds of water and yeast used in the distillation process and the length of time and types of barrels used for aging. The color of each brand depends on how long it has been aged and what type of barrel was used. These differences all combine to give an array of flavors, aromas, textures and mouth-feels to our collection of Mexico's finest Tequilas.
The Tequilas
Don Celso
Beginning in 1898 Don Celso Plascencia had the dream of building his own Tequilera, at Casa Coloradas, near Arandas. Unfortunately, Don Celso never got to build that distillery but his dream stayed alive in the family until his grandson, Raul Plascencia, made it come true. Since fulfilling the wishes of Don Celso, San Nicolas Distillery has been making some of the finest Tequilas, all produced 100% naturally. Don Celso's superb Tequila is double distilled and aged in new oak barrels for eight months to cultivate an exceptional balance of wood flavor, hints of vanilla and spices along with aromas of mature Agave.
Arette Unique
Arette Unique is one of Mexico's premier Tequilas. The name Arette is derived from Arete, a horse ridden by Lt. Col. Humberto Mariles in the 1948 Olympic Games in London, where he won double gold medals in the equestrian events. This was a feat unequalled by any other Mexican sportsman. To celebrate this victory Arette Tequila was born. Arette Unique is distilled at the Tequileria El Llano, one of the oldest Tequilerias in the town of Tequila in the state of Jalisco. It is located in the heart of the city and was founded by the Orendain family in 1900. El Llano produces a superior Tequila in limited production. Arette Unique is smooth, yet full of character. The water used in distillation comes from the volcano of Tequila and gives the finished product its "unique" personality. Today the process is still overseen by members of the Orendain family.
Penacho Azteca
Penacho Azteca is a unique product made from select Agave grown by Tequileria El Triangulo S.A. de C.V. located in the state of Jalisco. Its name originates from the Plume of Moctezuma, a headdress of feathers and precious stones used by the Aztec emperor around the 15th century. In 2005, during the International Wine and Spirits Competition in London, England, one of the most prestigious beverage competitions in the world, the brand competed with some world-renowned Tequilas and received various medals in multiple categories. Penacho Azteca boasts a sparkling yellow color and silver highlights with fruity apple accents and an intense aroma of Agave, with a long finish.
