Barrel aging is minimal in the aroma. Herbaceous and slightly green (chlorophyll) aroma with a pronounced briny character. Fairly juicy when it comes to agave flavor with a drying, again strong briny edge to it. Unique. Devoid of any real ex-bourbon barrel qualities or American oak brashness at all (lacking the typical vanilla and custard notes) instead favoring an almost sauvignon blanc herbal character with the dominant brininess. Definitely different but enjoyable. Best enjoyed straight, in a mixed drink I imagine the uniqueness of this one would get swallowed up.

It is apparently a young reposado, aged only 2 months, so it still has many of the young agave characteristics that as a Blanco lover I enjoy. For Tequila's at its price point - $29 (I think it was on sale down from $31, but still a great price), I haven't had much that compares to it.

The makers of Aha Toro hit another home run with this affordable Tequila.
