I smelled the alcohol before the agave and that never excites me. I could taste the sweetness of the product in the beginning but it was overpowered by the spicy, smoky finish which wasnt too smooth at all. But what can you expect at 20.00 a bottle. The bottle was beautiful by the way and looks nice on the bar! I would recommend this to anyone on a budget and its wonderful for a margarita.

The initial taste is a blast of earthy agave and the body is substantial. This is not among the ranks of the smoothest tequilas, but I don't expect that so much from a blanco. The finish is also way above average for a blanco with an tingly alcohol bite and a flourish of flavors, cognac-like in its effect. I bought this for margaritas, but wound up sipping it. Overall this is an impressive blanco. I would love to try the Cesar Monterrey anejo, if I can find it.

I opened this bottle, which cost me $15, and tasted it out of a snifter. With a clear color, this tequila has intense aromas of floral and earth. Other aromas include mild fruit, spice, and moderate smoke. The tequila has a thin oily mouth feel and the first sip is sweet with a hint of bitterness. Cesar Monterrey Blanco Reserva has numerous arrays of flavors. Intense flavors of earth, agave, and floral are followed by moderate notes of spice and fruit. With a medium-to-long duration of flavor, tastes of mild smoke and wood bring this tequila to a subtle numbing finish. Cesar Monterrey Blanco Reserva has received the rating of 89 points out of 100.
