Looks crystal clear white, leaves long legs around my snifter glass, tear drops form throughout the pour.
Nose is pretty straightforward but enjoyable. Notes of agave and earthiness.
Taste develops nicely, agave, spice and sweetness begin to develop, minty flavors.
Finish is long, peppery, but never harsh, sweet and mineral.
Mouthfeel is medium to full, somewhat oily.
Overall this is a solid blanco tequila for sipping.

I do notice the slow legs on this one.
Aroma: A fruity and vanilla scent.
Initial Taste: A slightly heated entry( in a nice way) Initial taste is vanilla and cooked agave.
Body: Same as initial taste. Solid vanilla and cooked agave.
Finish: A slightly heated finish with a lingering of cooked agave.

I'd almost go far as to say it tastes more like a reposado. In any case its a very tasty anejo and I would buy a bottle of this again.

I wasn't a huge fan of the old corazon so let's see if there's improvement.

Aroma: A nice aroma of vanilla, and slight caramel.
Initial Taste: A semi oily mouth feel. There's no bitterness on entry and Initial taste of caramel and agave. Slight heat.
Body: A very nice anejo body. Full of caramel, vanilla, and agave. Nice balance.
Finish: A nice anejo finish full of an vanilla agave lingering.

This is a very decent anejo sipper. Well done.

Im so behind the times LOL. Im a HUGE El Tesoro fan that I didn't want to stray. That being said, ET has been discontinued in my area while they rebrand so now I can try Tapatio.

Aroma: A surprisingly light nose of agave and dill.
Initial Taste: A thin mouth feel. No bitterness. Initial taste of that world class La Alteña distillery!
Body: Wonderful body of agave, dill, and citrus. In that order.
Finish: An unheated finish, with a pleasant agave lingering.

Most definitely the great taste I've come to love out of La Alteña, lacking a little heat. But that is a personal preference. Still a great blanco for sipping. And 1 liter bottle!

It has a nice nose and legs not usually found at the price. Nice agave and wood taste with slight hints of vanilla and white pepper. Its a bit bright but with a medium body with slight oilyness. this one came in at $16 and is a great value that mixes well but stands well as a sipper. The fact that I bought it again tells me I must have liked it.Has a great nose with agave and hints of vanilla. Ditto for the initial taste...vanilla,agave and a hints honey smoothness. This tequila has a great body...well rounded and the finish offers a nice even glow every time. Very enjoyable on its own or in a mix whether in a perfect margarita or a Vampiro shooter at room temperature. The price?...was right @ $24 a bottle. Great buy and I don't know why the packaging only gets an 88 overall... I liked it and give it a 95. Viva Dia de los Muertos motif!... Works for me.

Initial nose has a bright and peppery smell.Initial taste was also bright and oak filled with a secondary white pepper note with moderate agave flavor. Very good body but a little thin for what I'm used to in a reposado. Moderate smoothness but I've had smoother at the price. I don't do an initial response on enjoyability...I give it time and Corazon grew on me in time. Although not a great sipping tequila, it mixes well and in this regard, is a highly enjoyable tequila. At $25 per bottle, I would buy again but for the price there are better options. Presentation?... I liked the old packaging rather than the new bottle that it presently comes in.Still...not a bad choice.

I told the store owner I was from Kansas and was looking for something smooth to sip on over ice I don't find in Kansas. He said I have something that will only put you back $20 and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. I'm not someone who like to make minute observations of every potential ingredient. I like a smooth sipping Tequila that's not overly spiced. This Tequila is very smooth to sip on with not a hint of pepper but has a little vanilla on the back of the tongue. No bite and a smooth finish.
I wish I wish I had bought several bottles because this one is about gone. I have tried many Reposado Tequilas that were priced at $60 to $90 the did not compare tooth's one.

I'm sad because all of the wonderful notes other reviewers mentioned are all here, but in such small background quantities and ONLY in the body. The nose has that "cheap tequila" vibe that we all know when we come across something that is 100% agave but still sub par. That same vibe is very present in the tail end of the finish. The body does hold the butterscotch and vanilla notes I crave from a tequila but they are almost an afterthought as the start and finish lines are a bit tainted. At right under $40 I'll pass on this bottle any day of the week.

I remember my first taste of this - I love coffee and was blown away by the alcoholic caffeine hit. That was the high water mark; now I am appalled by how sweet it tastes. It's thick, sickly and oily, even when ice cold. Must admit that it can be a guilty pleasure style ending to an evening when inebriated but it's hard to recommend. The Incendio version - with chocolate and chili - is much better. Love the frosted bottle too.

For $50 this is a HUGE disappointment. From the moment I took my first smell I picked up a very familiar "cheap" smell that I swore I had encountered before. When I looked up the NOM I almost fell over. EL CHARRO!!! About two years ago a company in south FL went belly up and left an entire warehouse of booze sitting to be auctioned off. One of my local liquor stores took advantage of this and purchased tons of El Charro and were selling them off at $8 a bottle. At that price I bought a few bottles. It was not bad, but not good either but a bargain at $8. NOTHING I would ever pay more than about $15 for. So essentially what we have with Riazul is El Charro put into USED COGNAC barrels so sub par juice can be sold at a premium price. It tastes way too much like cognac. I don't like my agave juice to taste like other alcohols. I have this same feeling about almost all of the tequilas who age in used whiskey barrels, just don't do it. If I wanted to taste whiskey or cognac I would buy whiskey or cognac. This tequila is OK. I can deal with it, but that is as far as it goes.

I also must disagree with other peoples feelings about the presentation. I actually think the bottle looks quite classy.

Let me explain. I first purchased the single barrel from ABC spirits and it was so amazing I purchased the rest of the case off the shelf. Barrel #317. Brutal amazing vanilla notes on the nose. People in the room who don't even drink went nuts over the nose on this. Initial taste is good and the body and mouth feel could be a bit more oily for my taste. Leave all that aside because the finish is glorious. All the vanilla on the nose comes flooding back in followed with an earthy, leathery vibe. It's almost like you feel as if you've had a slice of dessert after dinner.

Now the bad part about single barrel. Something this hand crafted has its discrepancies. The next bottles ABC got in were barrel 344. Still quite excellent and embodies all of the masterful qualities of this single barrel. Super clean from being a triple distilled tequila that's seen resting time in a brand new unused barrel. But NOT as good as 317. Still at the same $45 price as the normal reposed this stuff is better and an absolute bargain. As amazing as it is authentic.

A sharp, clean entry, less sweet than the nose would suggest, but still some underlying sugariness behind the baked agave. A medium peppery finish followed by a nice sparkly after-finish of receding notes of spice and agave sweetness. This is an elegant tequila from nose to finish, its soft fullness and complexity more than making up for any lack of forwardness. A delicious blanco!

It's got a very clean smooth mouthfeel, immediately sharp and peppery on the tongue, giving flavour notes of green agave, fruit, some faint agave cooked sweetness and a soft tart citrusy tang. Nice medium spice and heat on a very lingering finish. End to end, an excellent tequila! It seems George Clooney et al have tried very hard to create, if not a very forward tequila, a very deliciously balanced and accessible tequila. And what can be wrong with that?

I will say this is indeed the smoothest tequila I've ever sipped. Unfortunately it also happens to be the most boring. Filtering this juice 7 to 9 times after the aging process to remove color and then following it up with a third distillation robs it of much character. For a brief moment I get a few of my favorite tasting notes such as honey, chocolate and butterscotch. But they are gone as soon as they appear. The reason is the ultra dry finish that sucks all of the moisture from your mouth like many good red wines. I don't mind the dry finish so much on a good red, but I like a nice long finish on my agave juice filled with complexities. At 65 for the bottle I will pass.

Upon presentation to friends, I was offered bribes to sell a bottle to a couple of guests. Maestro Tequilero Tequila Anejo was a hit at our cook out.

The nose is soft, grassy and floral with just a touch of wood. Mouthfeel is perfect, not too thin nor too chewy, giving way to a big green earthy agave flavour complimented by soft notes of vanilla and oak to round it out. Finish is full and medium hot with a very looong spicy agave linger and sparkle on the tongue. This is a deliciously elegant and nuanced anejo - a beautiful crown to an exceptional line.
